Berwick Shellfish Company is a
family run business that specialises in supplying live shellfish
of the highest quality to markets throughout Europe.
The company has been in business for thirty years, and we have
always prided ourselves on being one of the premier suppliers
in Europe, with vast experience in the export of Live Shellfish.
The
company is situated on the Northumberland coast at Berwick-Upon-Tweed,
near the Scottish Border. The majority of the shellfish are caught
locally in the crystal clear waters, renowned for the quality
of the shellfish found there. The shellfish are landed on a daily
basis from a large number of small local fishing boats, and from
a small number of larger boats. The larger boats fish further
out to sea (typically 30-40 miles), these boats mostly fish in
the north  west
of Scotland and store their catches in Vivier Tanks to keep them
fresh.
Upon
arrival at the Factory the Shellfish are checked for quality to
ensure that they are of suitable quality, size and disease free
before being placed into the Viver storage tanks to await distribution
throughout Europe
